Autumn Colors

autumn arrived 4 weeks early

which is wonderful to have that crisp air, warm days and cold nights last longer

the colors, the light, the sky have been glorious

Mushrooms galore have fruited above the surface of the earth

making walks feel like Easter hunts

often it is the details of mushrooms that win my heart
(hollowfoot suillus)

the sky has been showing off, amazing day dream shows

a bend in the river highlights golds framed beautifully

~

wishing you a lovely autumn

(or spring)

Spring's Glory

A beautiful day at the lake
before the storm came in

enchanted with the rocks
the light
flow of water

wandered up the road

to find the raging waters

flowers grace our days

snow melt fills our river banks

a unique offering of Trillium
with 6 petals instead of 3

the threshold of spring is in our past
we are in her full glory

Spring has begun

snow is melting
river rising
aquas and green water rushing

Montana Rockies
wearing Snow cloak

wandering
hoping to find a freshly fallen antler
and there it was!

first butterfly sighing of the year!

river rocks
dressed in sunlight and snowmelt

because so many of you love our river rocks
just so that you can see them dry

sandy floor

then i noticed
most the sticks on the beach whittled at each end!
beaver home must have been torn apart by the river.
never knew they chewed each side of their sticks:
wet and dry:

i feel thrilled
with our new season Spring
except
that i found a tick walking around on me yesterday

Glimpses of Autumn

the fae folk have been busy painting the leaves

golden giants
masterly

walking paths cloaked in scattered leaves

a cuddle of trees

treasures under canopy

doning mauve

vistas beckon

Autumn full of Golden

Golden Giants
aspen are elks favorite food

early evening light
first day of Autumn

a sweet trail to the North Fork River

to sit
simply be
with the beauty of a day

to take to heart
and become
the new season

North Fork, Montana

the charming cabin i called home for 3 days

found a nest with eggs made of snow

north west entrance to Glacier National Park, Rocky Mountains

 afternoon above

 frosty morning and frozen river

skiing along the steaming river, mighty cold at -10F/-26C
twas even colder during the night

 shadows were long

 and gray blue

this week, one day
the snow fell in the shape of stars
captured on Lucy's fur
(Lucy is a dog)

i love it when snow falls in the shape of stars

The Jouney Continued

continuing on from the previous post
traveling up the North Fork towards Polebridge Montana

a place to cook on this hot summer day

flowers lined the high mountain road

what is this chipmunk digging for?

next it scurried into the wild current bush
had a feast while i looked on

 summer leaves still brilliant green

lake water divine

nature beauty sublime
